Seven recipes handed down from The Founder's own kitchen, each one warm, wholesome and named after Her whether the ingredient agreed to it or not. Roll your sleeves up, put the kettle on, and remember: substitutions are treason, but a second helping is love.

Kelp Caesar of Devotion

Serves: Kel. And Kel.
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "Salty. Like her." โ€” a member

You'll Need

  • Kelp, gathered at low tide by someone She trusts
  • Kale, because it was already in the fridge judging you
  • Croutons, cut into little crowns
  • A dressing you will never be told the recipe for
Method: Toss everything. Toss it again. Kel says it isn't tossed. Toss a third time. Serve at once, then apologise for the delay.
Founder's note: Say "sea-sar" instead of "kel-sar" and you'll be asked to leave the kitchen and the will.

Kellogg's, But She's Watching

Serves: one, at 6am, in silence
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "A breakfast and a warning." โ€” Which? (fictional)

You'll Need

  • Cereal (any โ€” She'll rename it Kellogg's regardless)
  • Milk, poured second, or it's a crime
  • The spoon She gave you, which is technically a loan
Method: Pour. Do not photograph it "for the aesthetic." Eat before it goes soft, because a soggy tribute is a soggy soul.
Founder's note: Milk first is how the schism started. We do not speak of the milk-first ones.

Kel-amel Shortbread (No Sharing)

Serves: the look of four, the truth of Kel
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "Reached for a piece. Lost a finger." โ€” anon

You'll Need

  • Butter, softened by fear
  • Caramel, boiled until it, too, submits
  • A chocolate top thick enough to hide the last piece
Method: Bake. Cool. Cut into exactly the right number. Turn around โ€” one is gone. It was always going to be gone.
Founder's note: The last piece was never yours. See Oath, Clause VI.

Kel-gari (a Kedgeree, corrected)

Serves: a book club, minus the spoiler
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "Smoked, like her disappointment." โ€” Vic

You'll Need

  • Smoked haddock, poached in gentle intimidation
  • Rice โ€” one grain per compliment you owe Her
  • Eggs, boiled as long as She is silent (unknowable)
  • A whisper of curry powder and a lot of eye contact
Method: Combine. Fluff. Present to Kel. Await verdict. There is no verdict. That is the verdict.
Founder's note: Once a colonial breakfast. Now a Kel-onial one. She annexed it in 2024.

Kel-chup (see: the Oath)

Serves: everyone, whether they asked or not
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "I called it ketchup once. Once." โ€” a reformed member

You'll Need

  • Tomatoes that have accepted their new name
  • Vinegar, sharp as a fine notice
  • Sugar, to soften the blow of allegiance
Method: Simmer for hours. Bottle. Label it correctly. Say it aloud, in a restaurant, to a waiter, in front of your family. This is the deal. You signed it.
Founder's note: There is no ketchup. There has never been ketchup. There is only Kel-chup.

Choco-Kel Cake (Big Bake Energy)

Serves: as a centrepiece, admired, never cut
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "Three tiers. Like a monarchy." โ€” the baker, weeping

You'll Need

  • Cocoa, dark as an overdue notice
  • Flour, sifted until it apologises
  • A candle count that always reads "reign continues"
Method: Bake three tiers. Stack in order of loyalty. Do not attempt a fourth โ€” that reads as a succession attempt and will be minuted.
Founder's note: If the cake sinks in the middle, so did your commitment. Start again.

The Founder's Toast (Literally)

Serves: one slice, several ceremonies
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… "Fork handles? Four candles? It's toast, and she made it holy." โ€” Bill

You'll Need

  • Bread (a loaf She has personally intimidated)
  • Butter to the very edges โ€” negligence is heresy
  • A toast, raised to Kel, before eating the toast, also for Kel
Method: Toast. Butter. Raise it. Say something kind about The Founder. Eat it in Her honour, crusts and all โ€” refusing the crusts is refusing Her.
Founder's note: The only recipe She endorses without conditions. There are, however, seven conditions.

Food is just devotion you can chew. Every dish in this book is named after me because I am the seasoning, the substance and the reservation. Cook these right and you'll taste greatness. Cook them wrong and you'll taste a formal warning. Either way, you're eating like me now, and there is no diet plan out of that. Kel ๐Ÿ‘‘

This cookbook is satirical and lovingly made. No ingredient was consulted about its renaming. Any resemblance to actual nutrition is coincidental and unauthorised.
